STEFANO ANTONETTI, D-Orbit

Stefano is in charge of the Institutional Business Development at D-Orbit. He has joined the company from the very beginning in 2014 and so he contributed to the evolution of D-Orbit from a tiny start-up to a one of the most renowned member of the “New Space”.

In D-Orbit, Stefano has been able to combine his passion with space and its dedication to sustainable development, succeeding to raise about 6 million euros in grants and institutional contracts.

Stefano holds a Master’s degree in Space Engineering in a collaboration between the University of Rome «La Sapienza» and the Delft University of Technology. Before joining D-Orbit, he has worked as Space System engineer in Paris for 7 years for a small company called 4SPACE, a contractor of the European Space Agency focusing on feasibility studies for space exploration and the environmental impact of space activities. When he came back to Italy in 2014, he immediately joined D-Orbit as Program Manager for most of the activities done in collaboration with the European Space Agency. Now, Stefano is in charge of drawing the future of space transportation and logistics together with European institutions and companies.

GLORIA BARCZAK, Northeastern University

Dr. Gloria Barczak is Professor Emeritus of Marketing and Innovation at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. She received her PhD in Marketing and Innovation from Syracuse University and, over her career, she has taught MA courses in New Product Development/Innovation and Marketing. She taught in the Executive MBA, High Tech MBA, Evening MBA, and full-time MBA programs at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business.

Professor Barczak is also a Senior Advisor to the journal, Creativity and Innovation Management, and a long-time member of the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. Dr. Barczak has published over 30 academically refereed journal articles in numerous journals including the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM), Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, British Journal of Management, Information and Management, and Business Horizons, among others.

Due to her role as an editor at JPIM, she served on the Innovation Product Development and Management Conference (IPDMC) Board and Scientific Committee and the Product Development & Management Association (PDMA) Board and Publications Committee.

Over her career at Northeastern University, Dr. Barczak was Co-Director of the Institute for Global Innovation Management, Chair of the Marketing Group, Co-Director of the Executive MBA Program, and Co-Chair of the Dean Search Committee for the School of Business.

ZIAD BAROUNI, Just Start

Ziad Barouni is an entrepreneur by heart. He has a passion for working with youth to develop their entrepreneurial mindset and unleash their creative skills. He is engaged as an international entrepreneurship consultant by the United Nations, Geneva. Founder of the Just Start Innovating platform.

In May 2017, he launched the Just Start Innovating initiative and volunteered on a 15 months bus tour running workshops that encourage youth in remote areas to start innovating and take advantage of the opportunities and resources available in their local communities. Over 2000 youth ages 17-25 participated in 64 locations across the Kingdom of Jordan, north to south; several micro-sized projects were created, some became startups, got investments and won prizes at local & international competitions. Finally, what he started as an initiative evolved and became a full-fledged solution to build & scale entrepreneurial platforms & ecosystems strategic programs.

Before devoting his work full time to Just Start Innovating, Ziad founded SnackableNews, a native advertising platform that won several awards, among which is the prestigious Queen Rania Award for Entrepreneurship and the 1st Prize at the Dubai’s Social Media Influencers Summit 2015.

During the past few years, he was a speaker and worked on several projects in the EMEA region, among which is Deutsche Welle to develop new business models for media and to create innovative educational curricula for Journalism. Furthermore, he worked with the UN to map and create innovative content based on storytelling about entrepreneurship and innovation for an online learning curriculum.

Ziad also continues to work with different accelerators, incubators and organizations to coach and mentor startups founders and help them to tell their stories, grow and scale their business models.

He is a certified trainer by DW Akademie, Germany. Has several other certifications in topics mostly about creative & critical thinking, online learning development, innovation, pitching and storytelling.

ŠTEFE BLAŽ, Elaphe

Blaž is mechanical engineer with background in the field of production and electric motor winding automation.

He graduated in 2011 from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University in Ljubljana and completed the diploma thesis at TU Munich in Germany. He is currently working on PhD in the field of production engineering.

 Blaž joined Elaphe Propulsion Technologies LTD in 2011 as one of the founding members. His focus was industrialization and commercialization of the in-wheel electric motors with a clear goal of bringing them to mass production in China. In the meantime he has been involved in the company management and project management of several internal, industrial and EU projects as well as negotiations with investors and foundation of the subsidiary company in China.

In 2016 Blaž was appointed as general manager of Hangzhou APG-Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Co., LTD; Elaphe’s subsidiary company in China and is leading it since then. Under his leadership the company has built up production line for two types of in-wheel motors, participated in drafting of the national standard for automotive industry, validated the motors and electronics in virtual environment, in the laboratories and on the vehicles in world’s toughest climate conditions. APG-Elaphe has acquired several Chinese and international automotive OEM customers and has became one of the key influencers of the future of personal and commercial mobility.

ALEXANDER CHEKANOV, Skoltech

Alexander Chekanov is an Innovation & Platforms’ Ecosystem Strategy specialist, with finance and strategy background in FMCG, tech and entertainment industries.

Beyond providing consulting guidance to practitioners and authoring conference papers and publications (academic journals and nation-wide newspapers), Alexander’s research lines include topics such as: piracy of digital goods; strategic competition in platform ecosystems; product release and partnerships in platform environments; innovation and transformation of platform-based industries; creation of value through artificial intelligence. Alexander’s main areas of interest include business ecosystems, innovation, strategy, evolution, and strategic alliances in tech sectors (with special focus on gaming and entertainment industries) and healthcare (ehealth).

Alexander has lectured at ESADE Business School in the undergraduate, masters and executive education programs. As a project manager, he also conceptualized, designed and supervised the development of a video game for a European Commission Project in the context of the “Lifelong Learning Programmee”. Prior to that, Alexander funded in 2011 an online music service achieving 3000 users and a 100.000 euros valuation in six months, and in 2011 was one of the finalists in the “Barcelona Entrepreneurs’ Capital Award” (Premis Barcelona Capital Emprenedora) with one of his start-up initiatives.

Prior to his entrepreneurial experience, Alexander worked as a consultant in finance & performance management at Accenture, in Barcelona, for the EMEA region; as a product supply financial analyst at Procter & Gamble, in Brussels, for Western Europe; and at MANGO’s Spanish headquarters in sales/product management and distribution.

Alexander has a BA & MBA in Management from ESADE Business School (2008), a CEMS Master in International Management from ESADE Business School / RSM (2008), and Master of Research from ESADE Business School (2012). Alexander is also a PhD candidate about to obtain his PhD degree in Management Sciences from La Salle / ESADE Business School, Ramón Llull University.

ALEXEY CHEREMISIN, Skoltech

Dr. Alexey Cheremisin is Associate Professor of Practice and Associate Director at the Center for Hydrocarbon Recovery at Skoltech.

Alexey joined Skoltech in 2014 among the first hired of the center for hydrocarbon recovery. He oversees the coordination of Center for Skoltech’s center for Hydrocarbon Recovery CREI experimental activities with industrial and governmental partners – applied research and development, technology commercialization in industry and technology consulting.

Before joining Skoltech in 2011-2014, Dr. Alexey Cheremisin was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of innovative medium-sized company Geologika LLC.  In 2005-2011 Alexey was a Team Leader in Schlumberger Novosibirsk Technology Center (R&D department Schlumberger).  His team successfully developed and commercialized the unique technologies for the US and international market.

His practical business experience includes being a founding member of an entrepreneurial technology company in Russia, serving as CEO and CTO in medium-sized companies.

Dr. Cheremisin has a broad range of experimental and numerical simulation research expertise: non-destructive testing, fluid flow in porous media, X-ray tomography methods, electron microscopy, fast and explosion processes, geomechanics, Oil&Gas reservoir development simulation, and enhanced oil recovery methods.

He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Lavrentyev Institute of Hydrodynamics (Novosibirsk) and Bachelor’s degrees in Physics from the Novosibirsk State University (Russia).

NIELS COTIAUX, IMP Consulting GmbH

Niels Cotiaux is an associate partner at IMP Consulting GmbH (Munich) and has been a member of the company since 2010. He has extensive experience in innovation management/systems, business model development, and project management; he has worked with major brands such as Adidas, BRITA, and Heidelberger Druck.

His professional skills include business model development, innovation management/systems, business model development, and project management.

In business model development, he evaluates business models in terms of their uniqueness, coherence and sustainability for medium-sized companies and groups in different industries. He also repairs, renovates and redesigns business models using internal and external expertise. One such project was for BRITA, where he ran a 3-month accelerator program, “From Idea to Prototype,” to develop a sustainable business model.

For innovation management/innovation systems, he evaluates the innovation strategies of companies in different industries. His most recent project was Pictures of the Future & Nightmare Competitor with Faber-Castell.

For project management, he manages the strategy & innovation projects for medium-sized companies & groups from different industries. He recently worked on a project, Knowledge Exchange, at Silicon Valley.

His professional background is extensive, having worked at IMP Consulting GmbH (Munich) since 2010; prior to that, he worked at Willy Bogner GmbH & Co. KG a.A., Bosch Automotive Systems Corporation (Tokyo), and O-WELL GmbH.

Niels has a diploma in Business Management from Ludwig-Maximilian-University (Munich) and Concordia University (Montreal). He also has further education in SCRUM Master, Design Thinking, Ideation Techniques, and Project Management Tools.

DMITRY DYLOV, Skoltech

Dr. Dmitry V. Dylov is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Computational and Data-Intensive Science and Engineering at Skoltech. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at Princeton University (Princeton, NJ, USA) in 2010, and M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Moscow, Russia) in 2006. Dr. Dylov had been a Lead Scientist at GE Global Research Center (Niskayuna, NY, USA), where he had been leading various projects ranging from bioimaging and computational optics to Big Data and medical image analytics. Dr. Dylov’s innovation record includes IP contributions to GE Healthcare, frequent technical consulting to emerging start-ups, and foundation of two spin-off companies with clinical validation in major hospitals in the USA (MSKCC, MGH, UCSF, Albany Med). Dr. Dylov has established a new theoretical and computational paradigm for treating noise in imaging systems, resulting in impactful publications in reputable journals, such as Physical Review Letters and Nature Photonics. His career record includes more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, 15 international patents, and more than 70 invited and contributed talks. Dr. Dylov has earned the McGraw Teaching Excellence certificate at Princeton and has been an instructor in the Edison Engineering Development Program at GE. He has served as an avid professional service volunteer, scientific reviewer, and an advocate for the educational outreach within SPIE, OSA, APS, and IEEE societies.”

RACHEL EISMAN, Ben-Gurion University

Rachel Eisman is currently the Program Manager at the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Ben-Gurion University in southern Israel. As part of this role, she leads competitions, hackathons, lectures and other events for current or aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators, including one-on-one counseling. She also oversees the Inno-Negev Technology Accelerator, which provides start-ups and hi-tech entrepreneurs with the essential tools that early-stage ventures need to advance.  Rachel works closely with the early-stage startups on fine-tuning their ideas, understanding how to commercialize their technology and pitching successfully to investors.

Before her current position, Rachel spent six years in education, working with people of all ages, from primary school to adult. She now focuses her teaching skills on entrepreneurship education, helping innovators reach their full potential in the competitive world of startups.

Rachel holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Romance Studies from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She speaks French and Spanish in addition to English, and is currently learning Hebrew while she gets her Master’s in Public Administration from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.

JOHANN FULLER, University of Innsbruck

Johann Füller is the founder and CEO of HYVE, a leading innovation powerhouse based  in Munich. He is professor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship  in the Department of Strategic Management, Marketing, and Tourism at Innsbruck University.

Prior to founding his own company, Johann worked as management consultant in the strategic change practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He further gained experience at McKinsey & Comp., Siemens, and Allied Signal. As CEO of HYVE, Johann empowers international top corporations to innovate and to become more entrepreneurial.

His research interests include open innovation, crowdsourcing, corporate entrepreneurship, incubation, and digitalization. In line with his research focus, he regularly gives speeches and guest lectures in the innovation and entrepreneurship domain.

From 2008-2010, Johann was a visiting scholar and research affiliate at MIT Sloan School of Management. Johann has published substantially in journals such as California Management Review, Harvard Business Manager, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Marketing Science, MIS Quarterly, Technovation, and others.

Before his professorship, Johann was a Fellow at the NASA Tournament Lab-Research at Harvard University. A graduated mechanical and industrial engineer, he completed his studies with a Master of International Business.

ANAIT GASPARYAN, MegaFon

Anait Gasparian holds the role of Investment Director with Family Office of one of Russian entrepreneurs since July, 2016, focused on consumer markets. From April 2012 till June 2016, Anait worked for PJSC MegaFon in the position of Director for Corporate Development and member of the Management Board responsible for operational effectiveness, organization development, human resources and administration. From 2010 to 2012, Anait was the Director for Corporate Development and member of the Management Board with media holding UTH Russia responsible for operational effectiveness, organization development and human resources, leading some business projects, launch of new business streams.  Prior to that, Anait joined Renaissance Capital after several years in Executive Search leading Investment banking practice, and in her last role at Renaissance Capital Anait was the Investment Banking Analyst, focused on consumer markets. Anait holds a degree in Economics with honors from Saint-Petersburg State University. Also, Anait gained a title of Master of Sports of International Qualification in shooting, being member of Russian National Shooting Team, 1998-2003.

ALESSANDRO GOLKAR, Skoltech

 Alessandro Golkar is Associate Professor and Technology Development Director at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. He returned to Skoltech in 2019 after spending 2 years as Vice President Concurrent Engineering at Airbus in Toulouse, France, as part of the Founding Leadership Team of the Technology Planning and Roadmapping unit of the Corporate Technology Office (CTO) of the Company. He joined Skoltech in 2012 among the first hired faculty members of the Institute.

Before joining Airbus in 2017-19, Dr. Golkar was Interim Director of the Space Center of Skoltech, focusing on the development of the Center with a strategy focused on satellite systems, concurrent design, robotics, and exploitation of satellite data for commercial purposes. He is the Principal Investigator of the Strategic Innovation Research Group and founder of the Concurrent Engineering Design Laboratory at the Institute. He served Principal Investigator of international grants with the European Commission and one of the two PIs of the FSSCAT satellite mission funded by the European Space Agency. He is a Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Among his awards, he received the “Innovators Under 35” Award of MIT Technology Review Italia in 2019, the Overall Winner Award of the Copernicus Masters in 2017 (European Space Agency), and the Luigi Napolitano Award of the International Astronautical Federation in 2014. He holds Visiting Professor appointments at ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse, France, and at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Golkar served as a consultant for the European Space Agency (GMES Earth Observation programme) and was a Research Fellow and Visiting Independent Advisor at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Section 312 – Mission Formulation). He worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, conducting engineering analysis of human spaceflight program scenarios. His systems architecting research has been sponsored by grants issued by NASA Headquarters (for human spaceflight and launch vehicle conceptual design), BP PLC (for energy systems), ESA, MIT, and the European Commission (Horizon 2020).

He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Habilitation a Diriger des Recherches (HDR) degree from INT Toulouse (France, D.Sc. equivalent), and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Astronautical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy).

ANDREY IPATOV, Astra Zeneca

Andrey Ipatov MD, is Scientific Partnering and Alliance Director, Medical Affairs International region at AstraZeneca. He has a broad expertise in pharmaceutical industry in different functions in Medical Affairs being responsible for different therapeutic areas and medical operations. Highly experienced and successful medical professional with a track record in developing strategic medical plans to support the overall brand and franchise strategy for both launch and in-market brands.

Andrey has 13 years of industry experience in Sales, Medical affairs, Medical Excellence and Capabilities, Compliance in Regional and Country level positions in Russia and Eurasia markets. Now he drives strategic cross-functional projects and company initiatives focused on innovation in Healthcare, building scientific partnering and collaboration with AstraZeneca Global R&D Units. In 2018 in collaboration with Skolkovo Foundation he successfully launched AstraZeneca Startup Challenge initiative (corporate acceleration program) to support Russian biomed startups and help AstraZeneca to identify potential partners for R&D in Russia. Additionally, Andrey attended a several AstraZeneca international corporate programs of business strategy, leadership and personal development.

Prior to joining AstraZeneca in 2006 Dr. Ipatov received his medical degree from Petrozavodsk State University and completed his cardiology specialization in Saint-Petersburg Medical Academy, he had a medical practice at emergency department.

JIGNESH JAIN, YGEN Technologies and Tinytapps Software
Jignesh Jain’s career has mainly focused on business strategy and competitive market analysis, drawing on a wealth of expertise derived from multiple industries. He currently serves as Product Manager of Tinytapps Software Pvt Ltd, a company he co-founded, as well as the Managing Director of YGEN Technologies Pvt Ltd.

In his role at Tinytapps, Jignesh is responsible for the entire product design and development as well as technical design control. As part of the core team, he is also building a go-to-market strategy and providing constant support to all other business attributes. His activities in his current role at YGEN Technologies involve end-to-end sales and business development ranging from lead generation, networking, brand acquisition, licensing, pre-sales and closure.

In over 13 years of experience, Jignesh played a vital role in product scoping, development and go-to market scenarios. Starting his entrepreneurial journey, he successfully established his first start-up in the mobile apps and gaming industry in 2012. In the past, during his employment period with such companies as SPIRIT5 STUDIOS, Jignesh successfully negotiated contracts with Fortune 500 companies, acquired licenses for content development and publishing and played a significant role in consulting companies across telecom, technology, enterprise, e-commerce and other sectors.

He was also involved in major decision-making roles for performance improvement, strategic inputs for cash-flow management and growth hacking. In recent times, he also launched an Ed-Tech startup and built www.weetablet.com under www.thetinytapps.com banner. Jignesh has successfully built games and applications for Walt Disney, Pepsi UK, HTC Corp., Tata Motors and many other brands for their campaigns across UK, USA & India. The most significant achievement included running CR7 (Cristiano Ronaldo’s brand) for almost 2 years and publish the official games for them.

REHR JENS, Holmen Group

Before joining the forest industry, Jens worked in the IT, aviation and credit insurance industry across various European countries. He is also a co-founder of Creative Peas, an innovation consultancy based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As Director Market Intelligence at Iggesund Paperboard, Jens Rehr is responsible for keeping abreast of current developments and likely trends in a global market.

Being interested both in the business and the IT side of things, he is currently exploring the fields of Data Science and Machine Learning.

Jens joined Iggesund Paperboard and the paperboard industry in 2009. During the same year, he became a member of CEPI Cartonboard’s statistical committee and two years later, Jens became a Board Member of Pro Carton Nederland until it was reincorporated as Vouwkarton Platform Nederland. For the last three years, Jens has been on the Advisory Board for one of the biggest conferences in his industry.

Working for a Swedish company in their Dutch Sales Office, he gets to enjoy both Swedish nature and Amsterdam city life.

Jens holds an MBA (with honours) with a focus on High Tech/Knowledge Management from EDHEC/Theseus in Nice (France) and a degree in Business Information Technology from the private Fachhochschule Nordakademie in Elmshorn (Germany).

ARPI KARAPETYAN, Cascade People & Business

Arpi Karapetyan is the Founder and General Manager of Cascade People & Business. Besides, she is a Founder & Chairman of Armenian HR Association and the initiator of Regional HR Conference. She is an Internationally Certified HR Professional (SPHRi, SHRM-SCP), Internationally Certified Coach (ECC), trainer, and consultant. Arpi has Ph.D. in Social Psychology with over 20-years of experience in Human Resources Management, 10-years of experience in Human Resources Consulting, Personal Training and HR Community Development, 5-years of experience in Personal and Group Coaching.

Arpi has worked with numerous renowned native and international companies from banking, insurance, production, IT, Telecommunication, retail, NGOs and other sectors. Arpi led over 50+ HR reorganizations and restructurings, 60+ team integration programs, trained and/or certified 100+ HR professionals, realized HR projects for 200+ different companies, fulfilled 2000+ development hours with diverse groups and individuals.

Arpi is also a lecturer at the American University of Armenia, French University in Armenia, and Yerevan State University. She has numerous designed development programs for individuals and teams. Arpi does facilitations, gives public speeches worldwide, and runs career orientation programs.

RAKSHIT KEJRIWAL, Edyoo Technologies

Rakshit Kejriwal has over 15 years’ experience across building and scaling entrepreneurial ventures, angel investing, investment banking, and providing mergers and acquisitions advice across U.S, India, and Middle East.

Currently, Rakshit is the Co-Founder & CEO of Edyoo.com, a pre-Series A funded online marketplace for parents of children between 4 to 18 years of age, for all learning, education, and development related products and services. The Company has seen an impressive growth,

where it is already working with 500+ large schools of India, 300K+ parents, and has confirmed topline (GMV) pipeline of $12 million as of date.

Prior to this, Rakshit had co-founded DropKaffe Foods & Beverages, a VC-funded startup that sells its RTD (ready-to-drink) dairy-based beverages under the brand name Goodness! With a promise of limited shelf life and real ingredients, the Company has established itself as the leading beverage of choice in the market. Rakshit exited DropKaffe in 2016, while the company continues to run successfully across India today.

Prior to his startup journey, Rakshit spent 10 years in the corporate world, having worked as an investment banker and mergers and acquisitions consultant with companies such as E&Y, KPMG, and Wachovia Securities, in the United States and the Middle East.

Rakshit now mentors startup founders on business models and fund-raising and is active in the start-up ecosystem. He was recently invited as a speaker at TEDx Sarjapur Salon, Bangalore, to share his views on the “Impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on jobs.”

Rakshit studied at Columbia Business School in New York City, where he received his MBA. He is an active participant of Morningside Angels, a pan-India angel network comprised of Columbia University alumni. He also coaches aspirants who are preparing for the Ivy League and other top universities across the world.

ALEXY KHRABROV, Cicero.AI
Dr. Alexy Khrabrov is a founder and organizer of open-source communities and conferences on software engineering, artificial intelligence, and data. He is the Chief Scientist of Cicero.AI, a community-based research institute. Dr. Khrabrov runs seven meetups in San Francisco, including bay.area.ai, sfscala.org, sfspark.org, sfhadoop.org, reactive.community, sfgraphql.org, and sffintech.org. He founded a series of technical conferences called “By the Bay,” including ai.bythebay.io, self.driving.cars, scale.bythebay.io, data.bythebay.io, cognifest.org, and rethinktrust.org.

The By the Bay conferences are known for their technical talks, high quality and great panels. All the recorded technical talks are published free on Functional.TV. Alexy is an advisor to data-driven startups and venture funds.

Before focusing on community stewardship full-time, Dr. Khrabrov was a chief scientist, director of analytics, vice president of community, and research engineer at several startups, enterprises, and universities, including Amazon, NEC, Dartmouth, Berkeley, Versal, and Nitro. Dr. Khrabrov is a recognized speaker, panel organizer and moderator at global technology conferences, helping illuminate the key ideas and trends in artificial intelligence, data and software engineering.

Alexy holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

MAURO MARTINO, IBM Research AI

Mauro Martino is the founder of the Visual Artificial Intelligence Lab at IBM Research, with offices in Cambridge, US, and Professor of Practice at Northeastern University in Boston.

Mauro is a pioneer in the use of the artificial neural network in the sculpture field. His interactive AI works are used by millions of people, some examples:

DIMITRI PISSARENKO, Skoltech
Dimitri Pissarenko is a Professor of practice at the Center for Hydrocarbon recovery at Scholtech. He is a graduate of Moscow Power Engineering University and holds his PhD in Geophysics from Institut de Physique du Globe, Paris. He is also a graduate of MIT Sloan Business School “Strategic Innovation” Program. Over more than 25 years of his academic and industrial career Prof. Pissarenko has held various research and teaching positions in leading European universities and research institutions: Associate Professor at Ecole Normale Supérieure, visiting researcher at University Paris VI, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, and Observatory of Nice. After joining Schlumberger in 2000, he has worked in corporate technology centers in France, the United Kingdom, and Russia where he directed research and engineering projects in the roles of Principal Research Scientist, Program manager, Research Director and Vice President for Research and Development.

Prof. Pissarenko has made a major contribution to the foundation and maturing of Schlumberger Moscow Research Center and of its science and technology portfolio. From 2015 till 2018 Prof. Pissarenko worked as a Vice President for Research and Development at Integra Group of Companies — one of the leading Russian oilfield technology companies.

Scientific interests of Prof. Pissarenko include geophysical data acquisition and interpretation, multi-scale reservoir characterization and simulation, statistical methods and their applications in geoscience.

MAXIMILIAN RAPP, Skoltech

Dr. Maximilian Rapp is as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Innovation Management and Digital Transformation. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the International University of Monaco, leading courses on business models and transformation, corporate consultancy, and design thinking. Besides he is lecturer at the Campus M21 for in Munich and at the Crea in Geneva, Switzerland.

During the summer term 2016 he was invited as Guest Professor to the Ivy League College William & Mary in Williambsurg, Virginia, USA to teach and actively engage in research with the Dean of the Business School.

Maximilian spent around 10 years of his career in corporate consultancy as Head of Crowdsourcing at HYVE AG, a management consulting company in Germany. In his role there, Maximilian was a team lead of consultancy in such sectors as Open Innovation, Open Government, Community Management as well as Communication – for clients like Adidas, Intel, BMW, MasterCard, and Beiersdorf to name a few.

He is now Head of Innovation Management, Co-Creation and Open Innovation for EY, a London-based accounting firm specializing in assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services. Much of Maximilian’s work there is centered around Co-Innovation Programs, Design Thinking, Co-Creation and Digital Business Transformation in the German speaking countries.

In addition to his work in the corporate and academic worlds, Dr. Rapp is an international Keynote speaker. Maximilian received his bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University in Belfast and his Ph.D. – from Universität Augsburg in Germany.

His personal interests are playing and watching hockey as well as climbing and mountaineering.

In business model development, he evaluates business models in terms of their uniqueness, coherence and sustainability for medium-sized companies and groups in different industries. He also repairs, renovates and redesigns business models using internal and external expertise. One such project was for BRITA, where he ran a 3-month accelerator program, “From Idea to Prototype,” to develop a sustainable business model.

For innovation management/innovation systems, he evaluates the innovation strategies of companies in different industries. His most recent project was Pictures of the Future & Nightmare Competitor with Faber-Castell.

For project management, he manages the strategy & innovation projects for medium-sized companies & groups from different industries. He recently worked on a project, Knowledge Exchange, at Silicon Valley.

His professional background is extensive, having worked at IMP Consulting GmbH (Munich) since 2010; prior to that, he worked at Willy Bogner GmbH & Co. KG a.A., Bosch Automotive Systems Corporation (Tokyo), and O-WELL GmbH.

Niels has a diploma in Business Management from Ludwig-Maximilian-University (Munich) and Concordia University (Montreal). He also has further education in SCRUM Master, Design Thinking, Ideation Techniques, and Project Management Tools.

An engineer from India/s prestigious college, Shradha Rungta has 10 years of diverse experience in entrepreneurship — launching and growing companies, being a management consultant and a technology expert in India’s unicorn companies.

DIANA RUS, Creative Peas

Diana Rus is the Founder and Managing Partner of Creative Peas, an innovation consultancy based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, that uses evidence-based practice principles to help organizations create work environments that drive innovative performance and engagement.

Some of its most recent projects involved the co-development of innovation ecosystems designed to accelerate innovation and involve different stakeholders in the co-creation process.

She is an experienced consultant and researcher who specializes in innovation management and leadership effectiveness, and has worked across different business sectors and countries, offering clients insights and advice on innovation management, open innovation talent development and leadership effectiveness.

SERGEY RYKOVANOV, Skoltech

Dr. Sergey Rykovanov is an Associate Professor at the Center for Computational and Data-Intensive Science and Engineering at Skoltech. Dr. Sergey Rykovanov graduated from the Physics Faculty of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2006. He then moved to Germany to pursue a Ph.D. in physics in Max-Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching. During his Ph.D. time he was working on numerical laser plasma physics and parallel particle-in-cell codes development. He obtained his Ph.D. from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 2009 and remained there for another two years as a post-doc gaining further experience in numerical plasma physics, high-performance computing and novel computing architectures.  In 2012, Dr. Rykovanov became a post-doctoral researcher in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in USA, where he continued working in computational physics shifting his focus to compact X- and gamma-ray sources. In 2014 he won a prestigious research grant from the Helmholtz Association became a Group Leader in the Helmholtz Institute Jena, Germany. In 2018 he moved back to Russia to work in the area of High Performance Computing and Big Data. Currently he is also the Scientific Lead of the «Zhores“ supercomputer – one of the most powerful computers in Russia.

YOSEF (YOSSI) SHAVIT, Yozma Consulting

In 2006, Yosef (Yossi) Shavit founded Yozma Consulting, a business consulting firm with clients ranging from early-stage startups to multinationals, governments, foreign investors and leading organizations from the hi-tech, business, and public sectors. Additionally, he is the director of Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). As part of his role, he leads international competitions, dozens of events and communities focused on innovation and entrepreneurship and supports hundreds of entrepreneurs and startups every year. In addition, Yosef is the founder of several leading entrepreneurship programs at BGU, such as Inno-Negev Technology Accelerator, BGUInnovationLab and Innovation Gateway innovation hubs. He currently is the CEO of all of these programs, which are used by students, graduates and staff promoting groundbreaking technologies. For the past 12 years, Yosef has also been a lecturer – teaching an assortment of academic courses on entrepreneurship and management at several academic institutions in Israel and abroad.

SHIRLEY SHEFFER, Capital Nature
With extensive experience in investment and operational roles in the corporate world, Shirley Sheffer currently works as the Vice President of Investments at Capital Nature, an incubator and early stage investor in new energy, smart city and smart transportation technologies in Israel, where she has been since 2011.

Shirley is also a Senior Vice President for Business Development at BGN (the technology transfer operation of the Ben-Gurion University in Israel). NADEZHDA TIKHONOVA, Astra Zeneca

Nadezda Tikhonova is an Associate Director, Site Management & Monitoring (Development Operations) in AstraZeneca Russia. Nadezda has over 13 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry in various clinical operations roles of increasing responsibility. Nadezda’s experience encompasses a number of different fields in clinical trials including oncology, cardiovascular, diabetes and neurology therapeutic areas.

The main part of Nadezda’s job is to lead team of clinical research professionals for successful delivery of pharmaceutical company pipeline. Nadezda’s competencies lie within leadership, project management and cross-functional collaborations. She has experience in leading standard projects (clinical studies), complex non-standard projects and process management changes. The latest role is a Subject Matter Expert in a digital transformation programme being led by Global Medicines Development and IT to radically change how the company manages data and supports clinical trials. Nadezda has wide multinational experience. As an example, she oversighted and supported the team of local study leaders from 28 countries in a big outcome clinical trial. Nadezda’s passion is innovation in Healthcare and she works in AstraZeneca-Skolkovo Accelerator “Start-up Challenge 2019”.

Nadezda graduated from Moscow Medical Academy n.a. I.M. Sechenov with a degree in Pharmacy and MBA in Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Her research work was dedicated to innovative financial risk sharing models in pharmaceutical industry.

KATHRIN TREUTINGER, University of Innsbruck

Kathrin Treutinger is a doctoral candidate at the RWTH Aachen and research assistant at Innsbruck University. Within her academic work, she conducts research in the field of entrepreneurship and startups. She works and teaches entrepreneurship at Innsbruck University.

Being passionate about entrepreneurship, Kathrin also became an entrepreneur herself and co-founded the NGO AMPION in 2014. AMPION runs startup buses throughout Africa to foster tech-entrepreneurship among local and international people.

In 2015 she founded her second startup project, Skinnovation, which is an international startup conference (now hosted by the University of Innsbruck) where people ski together and attend workshops in ski huts. Pitch sessions take place in the ski lift. Last year 300 people from all over Europe participated and Techcrunch, a leading startup magazine, listed it as major startup event in Tyrol.

In summer 2016 Kathrin co-founded develooper Gmbh together with Ammar, a refugee from Syria. They are both equal shareholders of the company, which builds websites.

Besides her startup experiences, Kathrin worked for the HYVE Innovation Community GmbH in Munich and consulted companies on open innovation.

Kathrin also volunteered for various social organizations such as in the UK where she lived for more than a year in a community together with handicapped people or in the Ivory Coast where she worked with teenagers from difficult family backgrounds and young prisoners. Her newest project is a charity rally in which she will take part coming November. Within three weeks she will be driving from Dresden/GER via Dakar to Banjul in Gambia. At the end of the rally the car is auctioned and the money is donated for a good cause.

Kathrin holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration and a master’s degree (cum laude) in marketing management from the Rotterdam School of Management.

YIFAT TURBINER, Ben Gurion University

Yifat Turbiner is a PhD candidate and lecturer at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Her specialization areas are entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, innovation policy, and open innovation.

Yifat has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, both in the high-tech and the governmental sectors. She started her career at Intel and before joining IBM as Innovation Ecosystem Manager she served as the Economic Adviser to the Minister of Economy of the State of Israel, as the Director of International Industrial R&D Cooperation at the Office of the Chief Scientist, and as the Economic Consul of Israel to the Southwestern US.

Yifat holds MBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel Aviv University and a BA in Economics and Business Management from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

YOSI TURKASPA, TK Innovations

Yosi Turkaspa currently serves as Business Mentor at the Inno-Negev Accelerator of Ben-Gurion University.

Yosi’s previous teaching experience includes working as a Lecturer and Mentor for MBA and Economics students in Moscow School of Management at Skoltech and in the college of Management, Rishon Lezion.

For over a decade, Yosi was CEO of several investment companies investing and managing technological startup companies in such fields as medical devices, pharmacy, software, IT, semiconductors, agriculture and 3D printing. As a knowledgeable evaluator of earlystage companies, he has an excellent seed investment record. Throughout his career, Yosi worked in entrepreneurship and was responsible for establishing and managing over 50 startup companies, serving as director and chairman of the board for dozens of companies.

KIRILL VOLYNCHIK, RVC InfraFund, LLC

Kirill Volynchik serves as director of life science investment division at RVC InfraFund, LLC, a managing company of subsidiary funds of Russian Venture Company. There he oversees post-investment activities of life sciences portfolio companies including participation in their Boards of Directors, overseeing budget and workflow performance, achievement of milestones and deliverables, develops and implements exit and fundraising strategy.

Kendrick White is an experienced senior level executive and entrepreneur with over 25 years of success in high profile leadership roles in emerging market technology commercialization and a proven track record in technology scouting, mentoring, angel investing and venture capital fund management.

Kendrick is the Founder and CEO of Marchmont Capital Partners, an investment advisory firm active in Russia since 2005. He is a former Vice Rector for Innovation at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) from 2013 to 2015, where he created a comprehensive technology transfer and commercialization infrastructure, including Russia’s first Proof of Concept (POC) Center and the UNN Industry Advisory Board.

From 2016 to 2017, Kendrick worked as an advisor to the UNN Rector, assisting the Russian Federation Ministry of Science & Education in developing the Agency for Strategic Initiatives’ “NTI University 3.0” program focused on modernizing Russia’s tech transfer and IP protection policies. He currently is engaged in developing the new National Association of Technology Transfer (NATT) together with Moscow State University and other Russian universities, where he heads the International Relations Committee tasked to spread best practices in global IP protection throughout Russia’s academic system.

During the past 25 years, Kendrick has built unique know-how in commercializing early stage investment projects in Russia. NORBERT WOLF, Wolf Track International

Norbert Wolf established his own company „Wolf-Track-International“, where he is the Managing Director.

Norbert started his career in the Police Force of the German Federal State of Schleswig- Holstein, where he was later promoted to Police Inspector and then to Head of Police Precinct in the City of Kiel. He went on to establish the first Mobile Task Force to combat Terrorism and Organized Crime in the State of Schleswig-Holstein and was in Command of this unit for several years, before becoming Police Captain. After having hold positions as Police Staff Leader and work in the Ministry of Interieur he finished his career with the Police Force as Police Director and Police Commissioner of the Hanse City of Lübeck for seven years.

Then Norbert became Senior Vice President and Head of Security of Siemens AG Worldwide, where he worked on Strategy, Analysis, Guidelines, Investigation, developing an International Network, Cybercrime-Information Warfare, Know-How Protection, Compliance, and Security-Crisis Management  including an Operational Task Force to solve cases like Assaults, Kidnapping, Blackmailing or Oeconomic Espionage. In 1995, Norbert co-founded in Moscow „Verband der Deutschen Wirtschaft in der Russischen Föderation“ (German-Russian Chamber of Trade), where he served as a Member of the Board and Security Advisor, in addition to his main work at Siemens. He was on the Security Board of „European Business Congress“, while also working as Chairman of Security Commission for the „Association of German Industry“ (BDI).

Mr. Wolf studied at the German Central Police University in Münster and BKA (Bundeskriminakamt) and Cranfield Institute of Technology (England). From 2006 till today he he works on the Advisory Board and as Lecturer at the University of the Federal State of Bremen; he also conducted Workshops and Lectures at the University of St. Gallen Business School  in Switzerland.
